Bob
Galbraith, a sixth generation resident of Glendale, received Bachelor and
Master's Degrees in Geology from the University of Cincinnati in the 1960s.
He has had a wide ranging carrier beginning with work in mineral exploration
in Canada and most of the western United States as well as Papua New Guinea,
New Zealand, and Australia. He then spent four years working for Lawrence
Berkeley National Laboratory studying basalts in Washington State and
granite in Sweden to see if either would be suitable for high level nuclear
waste repositories.
Since
1982 he has been principally involved in hazardous waste cleanup projects
from California to Massachusetts. In 1987 he returned to the Cincinnati area
to manage the Remedial Investigation at the Fernald Uranium Processing Plant
near Ross Ohio. In 1990 he decided to stop moving every two to three years
and built a new home in Glendale. He still does geologic consulting and
keeps busy selling real estate with Sibcy Cline, tending his bee hives, and
gardening.
