40 Village Square at Glendale Square

Glendale, OH 45246

Thursday, March 27, 2014, 7:00 PM-8:30 PM

Cold cases fascinate us because of the endless possibilities. What if Alice Hochhausler hadn’t driven her daughter home from work while a strangler was running loose? What if Oda Apple’s wife hadn’t sent him to the corner drugstore? What if Linda Bricca hadn’t been so beautiful–and her husband not a workaholic? J.T. Townsend takes us on a sinister journey through thirteen cases, which took place in Cincinnati between 1904 and 1971. What do these cases have in common? Somebody literally got away with murder. Learn about the most interesting crime cases in Cincinnati’s history.

J.T. Townsend is a freelance writer and lifelong resident of Cincinnati. He is the former true crime historian for Snitch Magazine and his work has appeared in the Cincinati Enquirer, Cincinnati Magazine, Word Magazine, and Clews. He will be signing his book Queen City Gothic at the event. Enjoy the beautiful setting of The Rail House with their great food and drink. Join us–Limited Seating at this event!

“The People’s Attorney” Maurice Thompson to speak on Ohio Constitution and How We Can Protect It!

Attend in Person

Lakota High School West Freshman Campus

5050 Tylersville Road

West Chester, OH 45069

Thursday, April 24, 2014, 7:00-8:30 PM

Maurice Thompson is “The People’s Attorney” He is the Executive Director of the 1851 Center for Constitutional Law in Columbus which is a non-profit, non-partisan legal center dedicated to protecting the constitutional rights of Ohioans from government abuse. 1851 litigates constitutional issues related to property rights, voting rights, regulation, taxation and search and seizures.

Many of the protections of individual rights and limits on government in the United States Constitution have been eviscerated.   How did this happen; and what is responsible for it?   The same thing is in danger of happening here in Ohio, even hought (1) the Ohio Constitution is more protective of rights and restrictive on government than the federal constitution; and (2) Republics claiming an interest in limited government have controlled the Court for a decade.   What does the Ohio Constitution say?   And how can we protect it?

In this unique session Maurice will “flash teach” on three important topics (20 minutes each) that are impacting the Ohio Constitution:  1) What are the Unique protections of the Ohio Constitution?, 2) Are the judges shredding these protections and 3) How can you judge Ohio’s judges.Don’t miss this important EmpowerU Session.
